The Hub M3 brings privacy-focused, local-first smart home automation — no internet or extra hub needed. It offers dual-band Wi-Fi, PoE support, and a 360° IR blaster that connects your AC to Matter, adjusting automatically based on real-time readings from a Climate Sensor. As a multiprotocol hub, it connects seamlessly with Aqara devices and, for the first time, select third-party Matter devices — combining privacy with simple setup.

Good to Know:

• Certain automations (push notifications, weather/sunrise-sunset data, geofencing) still require a cloud connection
• Migrating devices from another hub means reconfiguring automations in Matter/HomeKit, though cloud integrations like Google Home and Alexa keep their settings
• Third-party Matter support at launch is a Lab feature limited to Philips Hue lights, Leviton switches/dimmers, and Google Nest thermostats
• A 2A USB power adapter is not included
• Minimizing obstacles and using Zigbee repeaters helps maximize device connectivity

Automation Examples:

• Pair with an existing Aqara Zigbee hub (like the M2) to boost local automation, or migrate all devices to the M3 for a stronger single hub setup
• Connect a Climate Sensor to enable smart AC control via IR, with automations tied to real-time room temperature
• Use the Presence Sensor FP2 to detect absence and automatically switch the thermostat to energy-saving mode
• Combine the Motion and Light Sensor P2 with a Ceiling Light T1M to auto-adjust brightness and color temperature based on motion and ambient light
